Declaration, Classification and Reclassification of Reserves within the Ashburton District
Ashburton District Council intends to prepare a reserve management plan covering all parks and reserves within the Ashburton District. The Reserves Act 1977 (RA) requires all reserve land included in the reserve management plan to be suitably classified in terms of the RA.
Following a detailed land status investigation, Ashburton District Council hereby notifies its intention to undertake the actions as outlined in Schedules 1-5 below pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977.
Any person wishing to object to or make a submission on any of the proposals may do so in writing and addressed, Attention: Ian Soper, Open Spaces Manager, Ashburton District Council, PO Box 94, Ashburton 7740, no later than 5.00 pm on 1 June 2024. Alternatively, submissions or objections may be emailed to submissions@adc.govt.nz. Should any person wish to discuss any of the proposals, they can contact Ian Soper, Open Spaces Manager by email to submissions@adc.govt.nz.
Submitters should state if they wish to speak to their submission. Any submitter’s or objector’s information provided to the council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1977 and may be released by the council under that Act. Any submitter or objector should state in their submission or objection if the whole or any part of the submission or objection is to be kept confidential.
Schedule One: Land to be declared reserve and classified
Declare pursuant to Section 14(2) of the RA, the council administered lands described below to be reserves within the meaning of the RA and for the purposes set out below:
