Based on the findings of the social impact assessment report, a review of the current policy against current legislation, and the discussion had during a public workshop in July, we've drafted an updated policy.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment informed Council that we have to update the policy to reflect the changes to the Building Act 2004. Officers have reviewed the policy and assessed MBIE’s recommendations, leading to the proposed updated policy.
