We’re starting work on a new community plan for Methven and we need your help. This plan will set out, what we as a community, would like to achieve over the next 10 years.

This is an exciting opportunity for us, previous plans have been a resounding success and led to improvements such as the redevelopment of Main Street and beautification of the town centre.

The plan will be developed by Methven, for Methven – so it’s vitally important that we hear from people who live and work here.

We encourage you to take five minutes to share your ideas on Methven’s future and our community's four strategic goals. Everyone who provides feedback will go into a draw to win a scenic flight over Mid Canterbury with Adventure Balloons NZ.

We all know that Methven is a special part of the world, and we look forward to working with our community to shape what the next 10 years will look like for Methven.

Methven’s first community plan was developed in 1997 by the community. An example of a project undertaken as result of the 1997 plan was the design and redevelopment of Main Street. Later on, a second version of the Methven Community Strategic Plan was developed in 2009. Methven Community Board are now planning to develop an updated plan for our community.
